Professional development

Teacher Fellowships

Grades 5-12 Teachers

Teachers are force multipliers. Deepen your own research experience — online for Level 1 and inside an Army laboratory for Level 2 — then bring it back to every student you teach.

Applications close November 16, 2026 — 11 days left

Mentors

Mentors are Army subject-matter experts. They lead the hour-long virtual chat sessions that run January–May. They also mentor and supervise Level 2 fellows during the four-week, in-person research placement at an Army Research Center.

  • Hour-long chat sessions with Level 1 and Level 2 fellows on their research area
  • One-on-one supervision of a fellow's summer research placement
  • Matched to fellows by teaching subject and research interest

Coaches

Coaches are former teacher fellows who have already been through the program and completed a summer research placement. They help host the virtual, curriculum program and mentor current fellows.

  • Help host and run sessions for the current cohort
  • Coach teachers through professional development and lesson plan work
  • Bring the perspective of someone who has done both levels of the fellowship
