The future of American STEM
starts here.
Army STEM connects students, educators, and communities to real-world STEM experiences that support the Army’s mission and strengthen the nation’s future workforce. We build places where young people, educators, and practicing scientists and engineers do STEM together — in laboratories, in classrooms, in national competitions, and online.
Our participants range from ten-year-olds entering their first competition to post-grads performing research in an Army lab to alumni judging virtual STEM competitions. Together, we’re building more than any one program; We’re building a community of STEM talent for the nation.

How Can I Get Involved?
America's STEM Future Is a National Priority.
The technologies that will define the U.S. Army's next thirty years will be built by people who are in school today. Investing in STEM talent now is essential to America's ability to innovate, compete, and meet tomorrow's challenges.
That's why the Army invests in STEM education and outreach: Because the talent it depends on — engineers, technicians, analysts, researchers — takes decades to develop, and because the pipeline that produces it is narrowing at a moment when demand is accelerating.

STEM Is Bigger Than You Think. And You're Part of It.
We want your talent. Whether you’re a student who hasn’t found your subject yet, a teacher who wants your classroom to work like a lab, or a working scientist, engineer, or technician ready to contribute in a lab or pass on what you know. Wherever you start, we'll help you find your way in and build a STEM mindset that you can apply to any challenge.
- bigger than the four subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
- the work of building, testing, measuring, fixing, and explaining
- a way of thinking
- a willingness to try and fail
- a collaborative process
The definition of STEM is wider than it was ten years ago and will be wider still in ten more.

How it Works
Find a program that fits.
Bring your talent to a camp, competition, or research opportunity near you. Filter by location, education level, or type of experience.
Apply or register.
Take the next step in your STEM journey. Each program page lists its dates, eligibility, and everything you'll need to get started.
Do the work.
You'll take on a genuine question or challenge with support from mentors, teammates, and working scientists and engineers.

Keep going.
Every program is a starting point for the next. Move from a camp to a competition, from a competition to research, or come back as a near-peer mentor for the students behind you. Wherever your path leads, stay connected to our growing Army STEM community.
